The NRA Basic Pistol Shooting Course introduces students to the knowledge, skills, and attitude necessary for owning and using a pistol safely. Through this course, the students will learn about pistol parts and operation, ammunition, gun safety, pistol shooting fundamentals, and pistol shooting activities. The Basic Pistol Course will also help prepare the student for participation in other NRA courses.
This class is designed for shooters who have completed a basic shooting course. This course will provide students with skills to reinforce shooting fundamentals and help shooters build confidence in their shooting abilities. Students should have a basic knowledge of and ability to operate their pistol but need further fine tuning and development. Students need to bring their personal pistol, 200 rounds of factory ammunition, and eye and ear protection.
Coming soon! This course builds on the fundamentals developed in Pistol II. This course focuses on further developing pistol fundamentals. We will focus on skills such as marksmanship/precision shooting, target transitioning, multiple targets, reloading, off-hand shooting, malfunction drills and more. This course will also include drills that incorporate moving and shooting. Shooters will be required to supply their personal pistols with a minimum of two (2) magazines, holster, magazine holder/pouch, and 250 rounds of factory ammunition, and eye and ear protection.
This class is designed for all shooters, regardless of experience/skill level. This course consists of a classroom portion, which covers all aspects of state and federal laws regarding carrying concealed weapons, and an outdoor shooting range portion that provides students the ability for practical application of concealed carry shooting techniques. Students will participate in shooting drills and various techniques required to carry a concealed weapon effectively and safely. Students need to bring their personal pistol, concealment holster, 150 rounds of factory ammunition, and eye and ear protection.
This class is designed for shooters who have completed a basic shooting course and currently possess a CCW license/permit in their respective state. This class will consist of developing a shooter’s concealed carry skills and abilities. Students will participate in shooting drills consistent with drawing from a concealed position, moving and shooting, reloading and more. All students are required to bring their personal pistol, concealment holster, 200 rounds of factory ammunition, and eye ear protection.
This class is designed around self-defense shooting. Students will be provided training regarding shooting in self-defense situations to include shooting and moving; reloading; using cover and concealment; off hand and one hand shooting and more. Students must have their own handgun with at least 2 magazines; 200 rounds of factory ammunition; a holster; and eye and ear protection.
Day 1: This course is for shooters who have previously attended a basic pistol and intermediate course or can show evidence of an extensive shooting history. This course will provide students with training regarding tactical shooting situations. Training will consist of training in the following topics: Shooting and Moving; Shooting while using cover/concealment; Cutting the pie; Shooting from obscure positions (sitting on ground, etc.); and shooting from a vehicle. Students will be required to supply their own firearm with a minimum of two magazines; a holster, 300 rounds of factory ammunition; eye and ear protection.
Day 2: This course is only available to those who have attended TOG’s 1-Day Tactical Pistol Course. This course will continue to develop the skills learned in that course and will be designed to fit the needs of the students. This class will incorporate close quarter shooting tactics, entering a doorway, and other self-defense shooting tactics. Students must be in good physical condition, as they will be moving frequently, kneeling, climbing, and running. Students must have their own firearms with a minimum of two magazines; a holster; 300 rounds of factory ammunition; eye and ear protection.
Our intro to rifle course is a full day consisting of 3-4 hours in the classroom teaching rifle safety; fundamentals of shooting; operation; and breaking down and cleaning of the firearm. We then go to the range to conduct dry fire drills and live fire training drills; we will teach you how to zero your optics; conduct shooting drills designed to develop your knowledge of the AR and confidence in your abilities to operate it effectively and safely.
Rifle II builds on the fundamentals of defensive shooting presented in Intro to AR. After a brief review of key topics, the Basic Carbine Level 2 course adds additional ready/shooting positions while introducing close range point shooting, initial defensive off-line movement, intuitive unexpected malfunction clearance and reloads, pivots, and turns, and precision engagements. The class finishes with a live-fire performance test. This 8-hour course is designed to enhance a shooter’s ability to deploy a carbine under varying conditions while maintaining a focus on using the carbine as a personal protection firearm. After finishing Rifle II, students will have a deeper understanding of how mindset can maximize the carbine’s advantage, and better prepare you for our more challenging carbine courses.
Our Tactical 2-Gun Course is available in a 1 or 2 day option.
This course is available to those who have successfully completed a basic pistol course. This course will provide training in low light shooting fundamentals. This course will require the student to provide their own handgun; flashlight; gun mounted light (optional); 100 rounds of factory ammunition; eye and ear protection.
This course is designed for youth between the ages of 13 and 18 years old. This course will provide classroom training on firearms safety, storage, and firearm laws as well as a range portion. Training on the range will consist of basic handgun familiarization. Students will be provided the opportunity to shoot handguns under the guidance and supervision of experienced firearms instructors. Firearms and ammunition will be available. Parents may contact instructor regarding a parent/adult bringing a firearm for the youth to use.
